The last official meeting of the organizational committee of the world championships of archery, which will be held from 7th to 15th July 2007 at the Festwiese in Leipzig, was visited by high-ranking guests. They were greeted by the sports mayor of the city of Leipzig, Heiko Rosenthal (middle), who himself labelled the oncoming world championships as the “most important sports event in Leipzig this year”.

FITA secretary general Tom Dielen (left) expressed his thanks for the support. He said he „is certain that these are going to be impressive world championships“. He already predicted “record world championships” as there are currently registrations for participation from 630 athletes of 84 nations.

Under the direction of the managing director of the German Shooting Federation Jörg Brokamp (right) the organizational committee noted a very good level of preparation. New avenues were tried out for example with a professional ticketing in the marketing area, the cooperation with schools in Leipzig and further activities.

Now the conversion in an attractive programme lies ahead, whose highlights will be the opening ceremony at 7th July, the finals at 14th and 15th July and the leaving ceremony in the evening of the 15th July 2007. Leipzig is expecting its guests.
